How FoodWise works?

FoodWise organises and optimises redistribution flows of excess food. FoodWise connects food donors, food transporters and food receivers using existing resources, all of that within a legal framework protecting all the actors.

Food donor

Surplus or unsold food is collected and stored in the appropriate conditions

Food transporter

Local food suppliers, who are clients’ of the food donor, use their daily routes to distribute the food generating no extra cost or CO2 emissions

Food receiver

The food is kept in appropriate conditions and then prepared and served to children

When food is lost or wasted, it’s not just the food that goes to waste. It’s also the water, the energy, the land, the labour used to grow, transform, transport, store, cook this food.

Economic

Food waste costs $750 billion to the world each year. Kitchens can waste up to 20% of food purchased.
